OAK HILL, W.Va. -- An Oak Hill man was arrested Thursday for growing marijuana inside his home.

Jason Edward Davis, 33, was charged with a felony after deputies investigated an anonymous tip. They discovered Davis had three "grow rooms" with cultivation lamps and a ventilation system, said Detective Sgt. S.M. Gray, of the Fayette County Sheriff's Drug Unit, in a news release.

Deputies seized about 15 large plants and several smaller plants at various stages of cultivation.

Davis told police he had been growing the marijuana for "medicinal purposes," the release said.

He was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court and released on bond. The case remains under investigation.
