Firefighters battle West Side blaze

Firefighters battle a house fire Friday afternoon at 601 Russell St. on Charleston's West Side.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Firefighters battled a house fire Friday afternoon at 601 Russell St. on Charleston's West Side.

Capt. Eddie Moore, of the Charleston Fire Department, said the cause of the fire was suspicious and remains under investigation. The fire spread to every room in the house, Moore said. No one was injured.

Three West Side fire stations responded to the blaze, which started at 1:20 p.m.
