With increasing regularity, criminals are using cellphones and social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook to brag about their crimes, and create evidence against themselves in their own cases, the prosecutors say.

Kanawha County assistant prosecutor Fred Giggenbach holds printouts of cellphone photos taken by two teenagers who beat and robbed an elderly woman in her home in Big Chimney. Hours after the robbery, the teens checked into a local motel room and posed with their stolen loot.
