CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Coonskin Park's annual holiday lights display kicks off Friday with refreshments and a visit from Santa.
The light display will run every day from approximately 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. daily though Dec. 31, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Coonskin Park in Charleston. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted at the entrance.
Santa Claus is scheduled to appear at the Coonskin Family Center on Friday, Saturday and Dec. 16 and 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for photographs. Hoppy's Little Express train will be at the park the same nights offering train rides.
Parks officials have added several displays to this year's light show. Also this year, a private vendor will be offering hot chocolate for the first time. Price is $2 per cup.
