Adult hospitalized after rollover wreck on I-79

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- One person was sent to the hospital Friday after their vehicle rolled over on Interstate 79, dispatchers said.

A truck flipped over near the six-mile marker, north of the Big Chimney exit, at about 2:15 p.m. Friday, according to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers.

Two adults and two children were in the truck, dispatchers said. One adult was transported with unknown injuries to CAMC General Hospital, a dispatcher said.

Emergency crews shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 79 for about an hour while tending to the crash.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
