Black History Month CLE presentation held today

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Eleventh Family Court Circuit (Kanawha County) Bench/Bar Committee will host a continuing legal education presentation and reception in honor of Black History Month from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Fifth Floor Jury Lounge in the Kanawha County Judicial Building, 111 Court St.

Charleston attorney Elliott G. Hicks will give a presentation titled "Civil and Human Rights Laws' Relevance to Family Court Litigation." Attorneys who attend may receive 1.8 CLE credits.

Former African-American civil rights leaders in West Virginia also will be honored, including Herbert Henderson, Hugo Payne, Mary Snow, William Wallace, Margaret Mitchell Bateman and Mattie V. Lee. The public is welcome to attend.
