CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County Spring Cleanup has been scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Southridge Centre, behind Sam's Club.
Trash, debris, electronics, recyclables and tires will be accepted (you must have a W.Va. ID to drop off tires). Items not accepted include hazardous waste, gas/propane tanks, paint, chemicals and motor oil.
Upcoming cleanups will be in Cabin Creek, March 17; Elkview, March 31; and Institute, April 14.
The events are sponsored by the Kanawha County Commission, the Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority and the state Department of Environmental Protection. For information, call 304-357-0570 or visit
