PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- West Virginia University-Parkersburg and the Roane County school system are partnering to provide educational and training opportunities for rural residents.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a $298,330 grant for the program.

WVU-Parkersburg said Tuesday that some of the funding will be used to buy videoconferencing equipment. Participants in the program will be able to take classes without going to the college.
