Court's health ruling could shake fall elections

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court's ruling on the constitutionality of President Barack Obama's health-care overhaul is likely to shake the presidential election race in early summer. But the winners in the court will not necessarily be the winners in the political arena.

No doubt, a decision to throw out the entire law would be a defeat for Obama. His judgment and leadership, even his reputation as a former constitutional law professor, would be called into question for pushing through a contentious and partisan health insurance overhaul only to see it declared unconstitutional by the court.

But it would not spell certain doom for his re-election. In fact, it would end the GOP argument that a Republican president must be elected to guarantee repeal of the law. It also could re-energize liberals, shift the spotlight onto insurance companies and reignite a debate about how to best provide health care.

    What are the socialists penning now? That a constitutional defeat of ObummerCare will HELP President Earkle??????

    The left is counting on a total lack of advertising by the Republicans (and they HAVE to advertise because of the likes of Jim Haught types giving Sociailists free advertising daily)

    Lets see, in a few short weeks the ads will start looking like this

    -Obamacare, the lies, BEFORE REAL costs were realized by the budget office and released. THAT must have really burned some of you socialists who post here
    -Gasoline prices....I have really been cracking up this week as Pres Earkle now claiming to WANT the pipeline. Think my guys will run ads showing Earkle interview calling for 5$ gasoline?
    -Solyndra....nuff said
    -Unemployment...supposed to be 6% now. Like FDR, the stimulus didn't work. Maybe a WW3 saves Earkle?
    -Race Baiting like now. 48 people shot in Chicago over a weekend. Black tragedy. Anyone read it here....nope.

    All I know is that my insurance costs more and more and pays for less and less. I had a cold this spring and ended up spending $200.00 after insurance. Somebody has got to do something. What use is living in the most advanced country in the world if no one can get medical care when they need it?

    If you think health care is expensive now, just wait until it is free. The math does not work. When you add 20+million people to Medicaid, does anyone with a brain think costs will go down. If you believe that, I'm betting that you are waiting for the Easter Bunny to deliver your basket.

    A 5-4 Republican court in 2000 proved it is not interested in the constitutionality of a case when it denied Al Gore a recount in Florida. My gosh, it was just a recount. There is nothing unconstitutional about a recount.
