As West Virginia Gold Seekers President Joe Smoot looks on, former West Virginia University kicker Pat McAfee pours Kanawha County creek gravel into a highbanker, a machine that takes stream gravel and separates heavy and light materials.

McAfee and Dave Kessler shovel what they hope is gold-bearing gravel into five-gallon buckets.

Doing the grunt for his proposed TV reality show, McAfee totes a bucket of creek gravel toward a highbanker for processing.

As video and sound technicians record the scene, McAfee and Floyd pan out concentrates from a morning of prospecting.

Flakes of gold can be seen among black sand at the end of the panning session, along with a tiny nugget, or "picker," perched atop Larry Floyd's index finger.
