Temple Israel to host environmental forum

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Social Action Committee of Temple Israel will sponsor a public forum on the topic "West Virginia's Economy and the Environment: Conflict or Opportunity?" from 2 to 4:30 p.m. April 22 at Temple Israel, 2312 Kanawha Blvd. E.

Speakers will address the opportunities presented by protecting the environment while growing the economy, and will focus on environmental science, green jobs and sustainable economic development. 

Presenters include:

• Don Garvin, of the West Virginia Environmental Council;

• Sarah Halstead Boland, founder and executive director of WVGreenWorks;

• F. William Kroesser, instructional specialist at Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College;

• Allan S. Tweddle, CEO and chairman of Composite Transport Technologies.

During the first part of the forum, the panel will speak. Following a short break for refreshments, the panelists will engage in a moderated dialogue and engage in conversation with the audience.
