Fourteen apply for state higher ed chancellor position

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Fourteen people have applied to become West Virginia's next higher education chancellor.

The applicants include interim chancellor Paul Hill.

Higher Education Policy Commission spokeswoman Ashley Schumaker tells the Charleston Daily Mail that the commission hopes to name a new chancellor by its May 19 meeting.

Former Chancellor Brian Noland left in January to become president of East Tennessee State University.
