Frozen turkeys on Interstate 77
Lawrence Pierce
Frozen turkeys covered the northbound Edens Fork exit ramp of Interstate 77 after a tractor-trailer carrying the birds wrecked. The truck driver was heading north at about 1:30 p.m. when he crossed the median, struck the entrance ramp guardrail and went over the hill, said Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers. Dispatchers said the driver appeared to be uninjured but was taken to CAMC General Hospital as a precaution. West Virginia Department of Transportation crews cleaned up the birds, but the ramp was closed into Wednesday evening.
