FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- An access road in the New River Gorge is closed because of a landslide.

The National Park Service says the Cunard access road is unstable and dangerous for vehicle traffic.

Commercial and private boaters can use the Dun Glen boat access until the road is stabilized. Boaters also can access the river at Stone Cliff, one-and-a-half miles upstream from the Dun Glen entrance.

The park service says the landslide occurred this past weekend following heavy rains.
