FUTURE EVENTS

St. Albans Rotary Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at St Mark's Episcopal Church's Christ's Kitchen. The cost is $6 and patrons get all-they-can-eat pancakes and sausage, cooked by Rotarians. Funds go to support Christ's Kitchen, Jericho House and high school scholarships. The St. Albans High School Marine ROTC will serve the meals.

  Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting a photography class instructed by Dusty Hurley, starting May 10 and continuing through June 14. The town of Marmet's next Saturday night dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Marmet Recreation Center in Marmet. Performing will be Freda Cooper and The Mountain Gold Band. The charge is $8 per person. The concession will be open and hot dogs, barbecues, hamburgers and more will be sold. The Marmet Recreation Center is an alcohol- and smoke-free environment. West Virginia Humanities Council will feature a re-enactment of Belle Boyd, a Martinsburg resident and a Confederate spy during the Civil War from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday during St. Albans Founders Day activities. The presentation will be by History Alive! re-enactor Patty Cooper of Parkersburg. Abraham Lincoln, by George Bartley, also will be present that day.

Poca River Road Race 15K (9.3 miles) will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Poca River Bridge at the end of Doc Bailey Road in Cross Lanes. The race is sanctioned by USA Track and Field. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 on race day. To register, contact Kelly McGraw at 304-553-1633.

Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Education and Community Center, 815 Court St., will offer an Energy Efficiency HomeSMART Audit Program from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Learn how to save money, reduce energy use and get paid to do it. The information session is free.
