SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. -- Preliminary hearings for a quadruple murder suspect and the man accused of helping him flee have been postponed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court.

James Roy Belknap, 26, and Mark Wayne Haynes, 54, both of Leivasy, waived their rights to a speedy hearing Monday before Magistrate Judge John Morton.

A preliminary hearing will be set in the future, a magistrate clerk said.

Belknap is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shootings of Stephen Leroy Hendrix, Amber Martin and Hendrix's two children, 6-year-old Dakota and 4-year-old Kaylee, all of Quinwood.

Hendrix took Martin and his children Belknap's home the night of May 19 to collect a drug debt when the shootings occurred, according to a criminal complaint filed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court.

Haynes attempted to drive Belknap across a police checkpoint May 28 near Leivasy, the criminal complaint said. He is charged with accessory after the fact and obstruction.

Both men remain in Central Regional Jail without bail.
