Kanawha County Parks and Recreation's Finance/Golf Committee has canceled the meeting scheduled for June 18 at Coonskin Park.
Quincy Walmart will present a book-signing event featuring a variety of best-selling West Virginia authors, novelists and editors -- including F. Keith Davis, historian and co-author of the current national top-selling book, "The Feuding Hatfields & McCoys," from 4 to 8:30 p.m. June 20 in celebration of West Virginia Day. All profits from the sales of these authors' books on West Virginia Day will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network. Other authors in attendance will be International Bram Stoker Award-winner Michael Knost; Brian J. Hatcher; Ellen Thompson McCloud (the "West Virginia Queen of Horror"); Jessie Grayson; novelist and editor G. Cameron Fuller and his wife, Karin Fuller, columnist for the Sunday Gazette-Mail. Numerous regional books will be featured at the event.
Sissonville Public Service District will hold its regular board meeting at 4 p.m. June 20 at the district's office, 6438 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville.
Town and County Supply will hold a vaccine clinic for pets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 21 at its Nitro location. Vaccines for dogs include distemper (DHLP), $12; rabies, $8; parvovirus, $12; Lyme disease, $25; and bordetella (kennel cough), $12. Vaccines for cats include: FVRCP, $12; rabies, $8; leukemia, $15; and FIP, $15.
