MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- More than 130 dogs have been seized from a residence in Berkeley County.

The Herald-Mail reports that authorities went to the residence in Falling Waters on Tuesday afternoon after receiving complaints that the dogs had been mistreated. No charges have been filed.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says some of the dogs were dehydrated and underweight.

The Humane Society of United States told a county animal control officer that members who went to the home to buy a puppy reported a foul odor and feces on 10 to 12 dogs that were loose inside.
