MILTON, W.Va. -- Blenko Glass has designed a vase inspired by the state's valley landscapes to celebrate West Virginia's birthday this year.

The annual celebration is Saturday in Milton. The visitors' center opens at 8 a.m.

This is the 32nd year Blenko has designed a collectible glass piece to celebrate the state's birthday.

Only 149 pieces have been produced for 2012 -- one for each year West Virginia has been a state, according to the company's website.

The 12-inch turquoise vase wrapped in zigzag yellow, brown and green lines, by designer Arlon Bayliss, sells for $149 and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to the website.
