Woman stabbed in neck in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. --  A Columbus woman was taken to the hospital after being stabbed in the neck in Huntington early Saturday.

Huntington Police responded to 1802 1/2 Artisan Ave. in Huntington around 1:50 a.m. Saturday. They found Rachael Browning, 49, of Columbus, with a stab wound to the neck.

Browning was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and is in stable condition.

Witnesses told police the fight was between Browning and another female. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.

No one has been arrested in connection with the stabbing. Evidence is being evaluated by the Cabell County Prosecutor's Office to determine if any future charges will be filed.
