RIPLEY, W.Va. -- West Virginia students in grades 8 through 10 are attending a camp in Ripley for some intensive language training.

Students were scheduled to arrive at Cedar Lakes Conference Center Wednesday to begin a Spanish language immersion camp. As they arrived, they were to receive "passports," choose a new Spanish identity and also go through a simulated customs experience.

On Friday, State School Superintendent Jorea Marple will address the students.

The seven-day residential Spanish camp builds on the success of previous camps such as a youth sciences camp.
