FUTURE EVENTS

  • Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike a Founders Day hike and picnic at Kanawha State Forest, Wall Region, on Sunday. Meet at 12:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at lodge parking area. The hike is approximately 4-5 miles on a moderate trail. An optional short hike, about 1 1/2 miles from lodge to firing range and back is available. A picnic will be held around 3 p.m. at the lodge. Bring a side dish to share. Meat, dessert and drinks provided.
  • The Town of Buffalo will have its July 4th Celebration on Wednesday at the Gazebo Park. A parade will begin at 1 p.m. and inflatables will be featured from 2 to 8 p.m. Live music and programs include - 2 to 2:30 p.m., Valorie Higginbotham (gospel); 2:35 to 2:45 p.m., Frankie Carte; 2:45 to 3 p.m., Parade Awards: 4:30 to 6 p.m., James Atkins Ensemble (top 20); 6 to 8 p.m., Charlie Absten and 64 West (country); and 8 to 10 p.m., Area 51, (rock). Fireworks will be held at 10 p.m. Call Barbara at 304-937-2452 for information.
  • Throttle Throbs car club will have a show on Wednesday at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson. For more information, contact the club president Ron Ness at 304-645-5055.
