CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia and Marshall universities have closed several regional campuses because they don't have electricity.

Marshall's South Charleston campus and Mid-Ohio Valley Center in Point Pleasant are closed today, along with WVU-Tech in Montgomery.

The universities' main campuses in Morgantown and Huntington will be open for summer classes.

WVU says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is using the Coliseum as a staging area for supplies that will be taken to areas in need.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has advised only essential state workers to report to their jobs on today due to widespread power outages.

The West Virginia Supreme Court has closed all state courts today. The court says magistrates should continue their on-call rotation.
