WINFIELD -- The Winfield Bridge will be shut down at night for several weeks to repair damage from a crash.

The bridge will be shut down between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Thursday, as well as during those hours from July 23 through 27 and from July 30 through Aug. 3. Drivers should take an alternate route, according to the state Division of Highways.

A few months ago, a vehicle hit the bridge and caused damage to the structure.

The bridge will not be closed during the week of the Putnam County Fair, July 16 through 20.
