House fire extinguished in Hurricane

HURRICANE, W.Va. -- Three fire departments responded to a house fire Friday morning in Hurricane.

Around 8 a.m., Putnam County 911 dispatchers said they received a call that a home was fully engulfed in flames at the corner of U.S. 60 and Henson Street.

Firefighters from Hurricane, Culloden and West Side's fire departments responded, dispatchers said.

The sound of ammunition exploding from within the house was reported to dispatchers. The fire had been extinguished by 9 a.m.
