U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin (right) presented an award to Ravenswood Police officer Tom Speece for intervening when, in March, a Ravenswood High School student threatened to bring a shotgun to school and kill several people on a hit list he allegedly created. Speece contacted the Jackson County Sheriff's Department when he heard of the threats, and took statements from three students who came to him with concerns.
