Murphy, state fair announce food bank promo

LEWISBURG, W.Va. -- West Virginia music fans can see Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. in concert and help replenish West Virginia's depleted food banks at the same time.

The 2011 America's Got Talent winner and the State Fair of West Virginia announced Tuesday that fans who buy one ticket for Murphy's Aug. 12 performance at the state fair can get a second ticket by donating at least five non-perishable food items. Those items will be distributed to food banks that saw their supplies wiped out after storms last month left over one-third of West Virginia without electricity.

The state fair runs from Aug. 10 through Aug. 18.
