DANESE, W.Va. -- A Fayette County man was killed early Wednesday morning after crashing a motorcycle he had purchased hours before.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said the accident occurred on Loop Road near Danese at about 1:30 a.m.

A witness told Fayette County sheriff's deputies that the man had just bought the motorcycle around midnight near Rainelle and was returning to his home near Danese when he apparently lost control of the motorcycle and ran into a ditch. Kessler said the man was thrown from the motorcycle and killed.

A source identified the victim as Jimmy Bragg, 47, but Kessler has not officially identified the man.

Kessler said the victim was not licensed to ride a motorcycle, and it was not clear how experienced he was at riding. Kessler said speed was not a factor in the crash, but deputies have not ruled out drugs or alcohol as contributing to the accident.
