A 30th year anniversary celebration for Pastor Billy Casto: will be held July 29 at Community Tabernacle Church on W.Va. 34, Liberty. The morning service will be followed by a luncheon held approximately around noon. There will be no Sunday school service. Jay Humphrey Trio will sing and Pastor Casto will preach.

The Aldersgate United Methodist Women: in Sissonville will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 4 at the church, 6823 Sissonville Road. Hot dogs, drinks and other items will also be available for purchase by the fund raising team.
Temple of Faith Ministries: will have a yard sale/bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on today at the church, 5518 Big Tyler Road, Cross Lanes.
The Kanawha Creation Science Group: will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room A at the South Charleston Public Library to watch a DVD and discuss creation science-evolution issues. To get to the library at 312 Fourth Ave., in South Charleston, take the Montrose Drive exit off of Interstate 64 and turn right. Turn left at MacCorkle Avenue and then left again at the next traffic signal at Ashby Avenue. Bear right on Ashby Avenue and then left on D Street, the next intersection. Proceed to Fourth Avenue. Dunbar United Methodist Women: will sponsor an indoor rummage/hot dog sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at the church, 1401 Myers Ave., Dunbar. The rummage sale includes household items, toys, clothing and more. Proceeds from concessions and purchases will benefit local mission projects.
Living Water International Ministries: will host the Living Water International Fellowship Annual Conference at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 and 10 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. on Aug. 4 at 120 Blackwood St., Nitro. Pleasant View United Methodist Church: will have a rummage sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4 at the church on Fisher Ridge Road, Jackson County. Hot dogs, barbecues, side dishes and baked goods will be for sale on Friday. Lunch will be offered, eat-in or carry-out on Saturday.

Lighthouse Worship Center: will have a community yard sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 4 on the parking lot at the church, located on the corner of W.Va. 21 and Call Road, Tuppers Creek Exit off Interstate 77. The multi-family sale will feature clothing, electronics, lawn equipment, cookware, software, hardware and more. The Mountain State School of Gospel Music: will have its Fourth Annual Summer Music School Aug. 6-10 at Oakwood Baptist Church in Charleston. The school of music will feature classes for all ages and all ability levels. The music school will focus on training church musicians (choir members, pianists, vocalists, choir directors, choir members) for worship services. The music school will also offer a nightly "group singing" session. Children ages six and up are encouraged to attend, and will have a special curriculum that includes free private lessons in voice and piano. Private lessons are available in voice, piano, guitar and songwriting. Cost of each 30-minute lesson is $10. Instructors include Trey Daugherty, Music Director at Consort Opera in Knoxville, Tenn.; Seth Gregory, former pianist for the Blackwood Quartet (Nashville, Tenn.); Derek Meler of the Nashville Chamber Singers and many more. Greater Emmanuel Gospel Tabernacle,: 1546 Third Ave., will have its worship service at 11 a.m. July 29 with Bishop Norman B. Jones Jr. speaking. The church will also have Bible studies at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. This month's series is "Now I know it's all in the Echo," led by Assistant Pastor Stanley Miller. Good Shepherd Free Will Baptist Church,: 5470 West Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. and the morning worship service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Luther Morgan preaching. Community Missionary Baptist Church: will have Installation Services for the Rev. Clifford N. Sherrod as pastor at 6 p.m. July 29 at the church, 920 Amity Drive. Guest speaker will be the Rev. James C. Jackson Sr., pastor of First Levi Missionary Baptist Church. A repast will follow the service.
McKinnon Presbyterian Church,: 4278 Washington St. W., will host Dunbar First Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian churches at the 11 a.m. Fifth Sunday Celebration on July 29. The service will feature a handbell choir and Bare Bones, a three-voice a capella choir. Lunch will be served following the service.
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 305 E Street, South Charleston, will have an "Explanatory Mass" at 2 p.m. July 29 in the interest of building bridges of understanding among the church's diverse religious traditions. There will be a standard Mass, the essential form of Sunday worship for Catholics. However, it will take about 2 hours because they will add explanations about each part of the mass just before it occurs. Questions and comments from the assembly will be encouraged both before the Mass starts and after it has concluded. Light refreshments will follow the Mass. Registration is not required.
