W.Va. Ethics Commission wants ex-mayor to pay fine

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Ethics Commission wants to force a former Dunbar mayor to pay a court-ordered fine.

Commissioners decided Thursday to hire an attorney to pursue the debt collection.

In April, Kanawha Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey ordered Roger Wolfe to pay more than $25,000 in fines stemming from a July 2011 ethics ruling. The commission had fined Wolfe $15,000 and ordered him to repay the city more than $5,700 in unauthorized expense reimbursements, plus about $5,700 in legal costs.

Wolfe has vowed repeatedly not to pay the fine.
