West Virginia Landlords will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 for social hour at the Moose Lodge, Kanawha Boulevard East. Dinner/meeting will begin at 7 p.m. All landlords are invited. Call 304-342-4342 for information.

Putnam County Democrat Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Hurricane City Park. Bring a covered dish. All Democratic candidates are invited.

Kanawha County Public Library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 13 at the St. Albans Branch Library, second floor. For information, call 304-343-4646.

Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 in the courtroom of Judge Charlie King, fourth floor, Judicial Annex. Names of inside poll workers for the Nov. 6 general election will be turned in, and other matters brought before the committee will be discussed. For questions, call Norris T. Light at 304-595-1769.

Putnam County Commission will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. Aug. 14 for the expansion project at Valley Park.

South Charleston Public Library will host a beginner's watercolor class from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14. There is a fee of $10 required for supplies. Stop by or call the library at 304-744-6561 to register or for information, ask for Janet.

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a morning hike at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 15 at Little Creek Park. Meet at the first parking area. The hike will take about 45 minutes on a 1.4-mile loop around the hillside trail.
