No incidents reported at Constellium plant

RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. -- A day after two men were arrested for allegedly damaging trucks outside the Constellium aluminum plant near Ravenswood during a strike, no incidents were reported on the picket line Friday.

A dispatcher who answers calls for the State Police detachment in Ripley, the closest to Ravenswood, said she hadn't received any calls from the company or protesters by late afternoon Friday. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department referred all calls to the State Police.

"Everything went fine today. There were no problems on the picket lines," Randy Moore, subdistrict director for the United Steelworkers, said Friday afternoon. But Moore said company guards are photographing, videotaping and harassing union pickets.

Laura Prisc, communications manager for Constellium, had no comment about activity at the plant on Friday.
