FUTURE EVENTS

Unity of Kanawha Valley will be home to the "Bad to the Bone" Karaoke Night at 7 p.m. Saturday at 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and homemade treats are available for a small donation. Music, singing, dancing and more will be featured. General admission is $2. 

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike Saturday at Little Beaver State Park. Meet at 8 a.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The loop hike is 5 to 6 miles with a varied terrain. There are some moderate hills and the hike is mostly in the shade.

Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Torchbearer Alpha Chapter will hold its Beginning Day meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Luanne Jones. President Susanne Patterson will run the business meeting.

Valley Park in Hurricane will host a Shifty Fifties Car Show on Sept. 16. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The top 50 vehicles will receive an award. The show is sponsored by the Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Putnam County Parks and Recreation Commission and Golden Oldies Street Road Association. Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. and all proceeds from the event will go toward more Putnam County events. For information, call 304-562-0518, ext. 10, or 304-562-0727, ext. 102.
