SOPHIA -- Police arrested a 28-year-old Raleigh County man Wednesday for an alleged sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl.

William "Billy" Jennings Cooper, of Sophia, was charged with third-degree sexual assault, according to a news release from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office.

Cooper allegedly began contacting the teenager through a Facebook account. Police discovered Cooper had contacted other teenage girls and believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Raleigh Deputy T.D. Pack at 304-255-9300.

Cooper was being held Thursday in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $15,000 cash-only bail.
