FUTURE EVENTS:

Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners: will meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 27 in the administrative building at 1525 Washington St. W.

Putnam County Parks: is hosting a six-week Fine Art Class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 10 in the Commons at Valley Park in Hurricane. The class is $55 per day or $330 for the six-week class. Payment must be made in advance. Classes are for any skill level. Most supplies are provided. City of Charleston Parks and Recreation: will sponsor a Children's Fun Run Sept. 3 at the state Capitol as part of the Charleston Distance Run festivities. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Capitol steps by the statue Lincoln Walks at Midnight. The runs begin at 6:15 p.m. Participants will run according to age groups: 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. There is no charge to participate and all youth participants will receive a medal. You must be at least 4 years old to participate. For information, email Lynn.wa...@cityofcharleston.org.
