Tomblin to make jobs announcement at Putnam plant

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will announce dozen of jobs and millions of dollars in investment at a Putnam County business Tuesday, spokeswoman Amy Shuler Goodwin said.

Tomblin will join company officials of Nippon Thermostat for the announcement at noon at the company's Fraziers Bottom location, Goodwin said.

Goodwin did not say what the specific announcement would be.

Tomblin met with officials from Japan-based Nippon's during his trip to the country earlier this summer, Goodwin said.

Last week, Tomblin took part in the announcement of a $28-million expansion for Wheeling-Nisshin, a Follansbee-based steel-coating company.
