Elk Valley Public Service District commissioners board will meet at 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at 100 Bream Drive, Elkview.
Kanawha County Association of Retired School Employees will have their annual picnic at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Riverside Shelter at Coonskin Park. All retirees are invited to attend. Candidates running for the Legislature are invited to attend and may speak for a couple of minutes. KCARSE will furnish fried and grilled chicken, drinks, plates and utensils. Bring a dish to share.
Charleston Area Alliance will have a Touchdown Throwdown Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Charleston, 400 Second Ave. SW, South Charleston. The price is $15 for Alliance members and $25 for future members. Online registration ends the morning of Aug. 28. Prices at the door are $25 for alliance members and $35 for future members.
