Bluefield seeks to cash in on popular trails
Advertiser

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- The city of Bluefield is looking to capitalize on the popularity of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails.

City economic development director Greg Shrewsbury tells the Bluefield Telegraph that the city's proximity to the trailhead in Bramwell is ideal for local businesses. He notes that Bluefield is the first city that ATV riders encounter coming from the south.

Shrewsbury says the city is planning to put in trail-related signage to help direct tourists to economic centers in Bluefield. He says local businesses also can consider their own signage to welcome trail tourists, and he plans to meet with local merchant associations and business owners to discuss how they can best reap the benefits from the trails.
