BECKLEY, W.Va. -- A Beckley man has been sentenced to eight months in federal prison for breaking into a post office to seize packages of bath salts addressed to him.

Prosecutors said Thursday that 39-year-old Benjamin J. Webb was sentenced in federal court in Beckley on burglary-related charges. He also was ordered to pay $1,200 restitution.

Webb admitted that he and a co-defendant smashed a glass door last October and entered the Beckley post office branch, which was closed at the time. Webb admitted to the theft of nine packages addressed to him containing the synthetic drugs.

Co-defendant Timothy Taylor was convicted last week for his role and faces up to five years in prison. His sentencing is set for Jan. 10.
