CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia has announced that nomination forms for the 2012 professor of the year award have been distributed throughout the state to all public and private colleges and universities.
Nomination forms are also available online at www.wvhumanities.org. Nominations must be postmarked no later than Nov. 2 to be eligible for consideration.
The foundation was created in 1984 to recognize and reward outstanding innovation and creativity among the faculties of West Virginia's public and private institutions of higher education.
The foundation board selects professor of the year finalists based on the written information presented and on interviews with candidates. The professor of the year and four runners-up will be honored at a banquet in Charleston early in 2013.
The winner will receive a $10,000 cash award, sponsored by United Bank, and a special handmade trophy designed specifically for this program. the other finalists will receive smaller cash awards.
