Cpl. Marshall Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman were shot there on Tuesday night by a man following a traffic stop. Gunman Luke Baber was slain in a shootout.
Cecil Woods was one of the first to contribute an item to the memorial, and he says it's been growing ever since.
He tells WSAZ-TV (http://bit.ly/O52s5j) he posted a picture of the flowers he left at the site, which sparked an overwhelming response.
Area residents said they are hoping to see something more permanent created in the troopers' honor soon.
