CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia State Police is investigating a Monday afternoon armed robbery at a Huntington gas station.

At about 3:18 p.m., a man walked into the Speedway on the 5700 block of U.S. 60 in Huntington, displayed a firearm and demanded cash, Trooper R. Blankenship said.

The man got away with an unknown amount of cash, she said.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with brown hair. He was wearing glasses, a black ball cap, a white-striped T-shirt and black pants, according to police. The man fled in a maroon-colored Dodge Neon, police said.

The car had either Kentucky or Ohio plates and had a small spoiler on the back, Blankenship said.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call the State Police, at 304-528-5555.
