CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A problem with a breaker at a Loudendale substation caused a power outage that reached close to 1800 Appalachian Power customers Monday evening.

By around 9:20 p.m. 1,779 households were out of power, according to the company.

APCO spokesman Phil Moye said the breaker would likely be repaired or customers would be switched to another source of power by around 10:30 p.m.
