DUNBAR, W.Va. -- Kanawha County emergency officials have canceled a notice about a telephone outage in the Dunbar area.

Officials for the Kanawha County Metro 911 center said Frontier Communications officials made an error, and there was no phone outage.

Frontier officials told emergency officials just before 9:30 a.m. that more than 3,700 customers in the 766, 767 and 768 exchanges were without telephone service. They came back later and said the report was made in error, according to Assistant 911 Director John Pottorff.
