Storm loans available in two more counties

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Disaster loans are available in two more counties to help private nonprofits repair damage caused by severe storms in late June and early July.

The U.S. Small Business Administration said Wednesday that nonprofits in Berkeley and Taylor counties can now apply for the low-interest rate loans. The deadline to apply is Sept. 21.

Loans of up to $2 million are available to private nonprofits that don't provide critical services of a critical nature. The loans can be used to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets.

Economic injury disaster loans also are available to help meet operating expenses or other working capital needs. The deadline to apply for these loans is April 23, 2013.
