Ga. fugitive arrested in Campbells Creek
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies arrested a Georgia fugitive Thursday who had more than 13 ounces of marijuana in his possession.
Deputies, acting on tips from various Campbells Creek residents, searched for Terry W. Kirby, 56, of Covington, Ga., who had allegedly brandished a firearm.
Deputies found Kirby's vehicle around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on Campbells Creek Drive. Kirby was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for violation of federal probation. Deputies found 13.8 ounces of marijuana as well as a .38 caliber revolver with the serial numbers grinded off.
Kirby is facing charges of being a fugitive from justice as well as possession with intent to deliver marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held without bond at South Central Regional Jail.
