Kanawha County Public Library: will offer a program titled "All Aboard for Model Railroading Fun" featuring kid-friendly train displays. Programs are scheduled at the following libraries: Dunbar Branch Library, Monday, 6 p.m.; Cross Lanes Branch Library, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.; Sissonville Branch Library, Sept. 18, 6 p.m.; Elk Valley Branch Library, Oct. 4, 6 p.m.; Main Library, Oct. 27, 2 p.m.; Clendenin Branch Library, Nov. 17, 11 a.m.; and St. Albans Branch Library, Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m.
Kanawha County Democratic Executive Committee: will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Charlie King, fourth floor, Judicial Annex building to conduct any business that comes before the committee.
The Sissonville Public Service District: will hold its regular Board meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the District's office, 6438 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville.
Boone Memorial Hospital: will participate in a Day of Caring Food Drive to benefit Madison Baptist Church Food Pantry. The final day to drop off non-perishable items is Wednesday. Items can be dropped off at the Learning Resource Center and Boone Memorial Hospital's main lobby.
The Putnam County Chapter of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women: will hold its September luncheon meeting at noon Sept. 15 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. The cost is $10 per person. Guest speaker will be Susan Hubbard, president of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women. The program will be "Increasing Membership." Bring a door prize and a friend. The Charleston Parks and Recreation Department: will open Cato Park for a dog swim from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday; from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 15; and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Cato Park Pool, 200 Baker Lane. Donations of dog food and pet supplies will be accepted and donated to the Kanawha-Charleston Animal Shelter.
