Nitro Public Library will present a lecture by Rich Hively on the history of the Dick Henderson St. Albans-Nitro Bridge at 6 p.m. at the library. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend. The Dick Henderson Bridge, which opened in 1934, will be closed next January and will be replaced by a three-lane bridge. Charleston Police Department's Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association will sponsor a pulled pork barbecue meal from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt Center, Ruffner and Jackson streets.
