Driver eludes police in Dunbar after I-64 chase

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police lost a suspect involved in a chase Thursday night, Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers said.

Officers were notified at about 9 p.m. of a man in an older model Toyota Tacoma swerving all over the roadway in South Charleston, according to dispatchers.

South Charleston police attempted to pull the man over on Interstate 64 westbound with no luck, dispatchers said.

As the chase progressed into Institute, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies became involved, but were also unsuccessful in finding the man.

Police lost sight of his vehicle in Dunbar, dispatchers said.
