Martinsburg, W.Va. -- Two men face drug charges after allegedly attempting to evade police in Martinsburg Friday night.

Police arrested Zachary Brian Huff, 20, of Martinsburg and Martin Cain Felder, 33, of Damascus, Md.

The incident happened as members of the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force were trying to arrest Huff and Felder for cocaine distribution at the Sheetz in Martinsburg around 10:30 p.m., according to a press release from the West Virginia State Police.

As police officers approached, Felder allegedly fled in his vehicle with Huff in the passenger seat. Felder then rammed a deputy United States Marshal vehicle and tried to strike a task force member in the parking lot, according to police.

The task force member fired shots in defense, police say. No one was injured.

A police chase ensued involving the West Virginia State Police, Martinsburg Police Department, Berkley County Sheriff's Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, police say.

During the chase, Huff allegedly jumped from the vehicle and received minor injuries. Police used deflation devices to stop Felder's vehicle, police say.

Huff and Felder are charged with felony conspiracy and felony distribution of controlled substances. Felder is also charged with fleeing from law enforcement and assault on a police officer.

Felder had been wanted for a probation violation in Maryland, according to police.

Both men were at the Eastern Regional Jail.
